History of Cedar Creek and White Oak Cemetery
The Cedar Creek and White Oak Cemetery was founded in 1949 by Hillwright Kuykendall, with the goal of a haven for family members of the community to have a place to lay loved ones down to rest.

Although Hillwright was the first person buried at the cemetery, it is worth noting there are two older graves buried there. Auslie Strickland ( 1936) and J.R. (Dick) Strickland (1947), originally buried in the nearby Bonds Cemetery, were moved when Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) was constructing the Cedar Creek Dam.

In 2024, the cemetery created a website with a feature to view loved ones virtually online for family and friends that may not be local to the area, but still want to pay respects.
